A sister project of Third.i’s Eaton Apartments, the neighbouring Stella on Hannell delivered another 149 residential apartments and three commercial suites to support the revitalisation of Newcastle’s WestEnd Precinct.
The twin tower project has one, two, and three-bedroom apartments boasting some of the best, uninterrupted views of Newcastle Harbour and the city. Other outdoor areas and a roof top terrace with seating areas and awnings maximise resident’s views.
An exciting element of the project is the inclusion of 14customised specialist disability accommodation (SDA) apartments. The complex had to be completely disability friendly including automatic doors in the SDA apartments and common areas. The SDA apartments required specialist fit out of bathrooms and adjustable benches in the kitchen.
Basebuild incorporated the unique elements of the project into its building information modelling. This is one way we gain a detailed project understanding as part of our partnership approach with clients.
Modular design, including the use of bathroom pods, ensured consistency in apartment delivery while speeding up construction times. We worked with trusted local brands and specialist sub-contractors, with whom we have long relationships, backed up by regular compliance audits, to ensure the project is of the highest quality.
Traffic management is just one of the many challenges when constructing tower apartments in a busy inner-city area. Our experienced team managed these challenges without incident.
